Premium Holiday Announced (10/15/2009)

The State of Tennessee Office of Benefits Administration has announced a premium holiday for December 2009 and January 2010 Medical Insurance Premiums. No deductions will be taken for the PPO, POS, and HMO health plans during those two months. For more information, please see this announcement.

Group Insurance Dependent Audit (07/10/2009)

The Insurance Committees of the State of Tennessee instructed the State Benefits Administration Office to verify the eligibility of spouses and other dependents enrolled in the group insurance program.  Secova, an HR and Benefits management services company, will actually be conducting the audit and will distribute the documentation requirements in middle of July.  You must provide acceptable documentation back to Secova by September 4, 2009 to keep your eligible dependents on your coverage.  Please see this letter for more information.

Implementation of Online Pay Statements (05/29/2009)

After a transition period in July, the University-Wide Administration Payroll Office will cease the distribution of printed pay statements for employees and the distribution of check registers to departments effective August 1.  For more information on how to view your pay statements online, please refer to Payroll is Going Green

Tobacco Use Surcharge for 2010 (05/29/2009)

The House voted on Thursday, May 12, 2009, to approve legislation that would delay the implementation of the Tobacco Use Surcharge until 2011.  This legislation has not yet passed the Senate, which is expected to take up the measure next week.  For more information, please refer to the Tobacco Use Surcharge documents on the State Insurance Administration website.

Payroll Tax Withholding Changes (03/11/2009)

New tax withholding tables have been issued that will reduce the amount of federal income tax deducted from employee's pay.  The purpose of the reduction is to reflect a credit that most taxpayers will receive on their 2009 tax returns as a result of the economic stimulus bill. Please refer to this memo for a further description of how these changes may affect your withholding.

Insurance Changes (12/08/2008)

The State Insurance committee announced changes to calendar year 2009 insurance coverage for University of Tennessee employees.  Previously announced rate changes will not occur, but new changes to pharmacy copayments will take affect on January 1st, 2009.  Please refer to this letter to employees for more information.
