Tobacco Use Surcharge for 2010 (05/29/2009)
The House voted on Thursday, May 12, 2009, to approve legislation that would delay the implementation of the Tobacco Use Surcharge until 2011. This legislation has not yet passed the Senate, which is expected to take up the measure next week. Payroll Tax Withholding Changes (03/11/2009)
New tax withholding tables have been issued that will reduce the amount of federal income tax deducted from employee's pay. The purpose of the reduction is to reflect a credit that most taxpayers will receive on their 2009 tax returns as a result of the economic stimulus bill. Please refer to this memo for a further description of how these changes may affect your withholding.
Insurance Changes (12/08/2008)
The State Insurance committee announced changes to calendar year 2009 insurance coverage for University of Tennessee employees. Previously announced rate changes will not occur, but new changes to pharmacy copayments will take affect on January 1st, 2009. Please refer to this letter to employees for more information.
